Dave Johnson had this question posed on his FB page. There were very diverse and interesting answers. I'm curious as to what the DA community thinks of the same question.
These are the perimeters of the question as posed by Dave:
Name the greatest comic book artist of all time. Based on creativity, longevity, impact, storytelling, style(s) and influence on other artists.
You can only pick ONE! Not a list, ONE artist.
Explain your answer.
THINK before you answer.
Is it just your personal favorite or are you looking at the entire picture? Also, if you pick a guy who's only been drawing comics for a few years, I'm just going to assume that you managed to get on your parents computer or that you're an idiot.

Doctor Who Web Comics
I got a note from Staff Writer and Assistant Editor (http://pandoraxsage.deviantart.com/) at Doctor Who Watch . She wanted to let me know that Paul Hanley and I's Doctor Who fan comics are featured in one of their articles.
Check it out here: http://www.deviantart.com/users/outgoing?http://doctorwhowatch.com/2015/01/27/doctor-who-web-comics/
The Creeps! Now on Sale!
This a new comic that I have a story in. It's done very much in the style of the Warren magazines horror line Creepy, Eerie and Vampirella.
Get your copy here

CONvergence 2014
I'll be at CONvergence all weekend. Come by and say 'hi'!
CONvergence is an annual convention for fans of Science Fiction and Fantasy in all media: a 4-day event with more than 6,000 members, and the premiere event of our kind in the upper mid-west.
“Four days will quickly steep themselves in nights;
Four nights will quickly dream away the time”

So it goes...
I'm selling stuff on ebay again . I haven't done this since 2008. It's a mess of art, collectables and just things I don't want any longer. Take a look. http://www.ebay.com/sch/tracimota/m.html?item=201098481532&ssPageName=ADME%3AL%3ALCA%3AUS%3A1123&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2562

I being thinking, this is not a fair question.
There is just too many greatest comic artist of all time.
Before I mentioned Alberto Breccia but in USA, Japan, even some parts of Europe ( and for my disappointment even here in Argentina) there is too many people that don't know about him.
The same can be say for most, if not for ALL the artist here mentioned.
I belive is kind of a "territorial" en "generatinoal" thing. And an indirect influence too.
Takehiko Inoue for example when he start with Slam Dunk, he admit that steal from everybody he likes, researching to develop a personal style and learning the craft. With Vagabond one can appreciate the evolution of that "stealing" and really hard work and the amazing result . Is just beatyfull.
With Judge Dreed happens the same. Simon Bisley had a very notorious influence from Frank Frazetta, so, anybody influence for Bisley is indirectly influence by Frazetta, such tose influence by Inoue are by all the ones that influence him.
Berni Wrigthson had a lot of Gustave Doré in his artwork, and the list goes on and on.
It is actually impossible to pick one because when you do it, you actually are picking many.
Each have his oun "print", "mark" that identifies their, each put their grain of sand but is part of a process and a confluence of factors.
Piranessi, Escher, Michael Angelo, Leonardo, Doré, Mucha, artistics movments in particular had influence in one way or another to everybody we can mentioned to put into this list.
Should be more specific such as In your Country, things like that.
A generalization is not possible and make the question unfair to all tose artist you can not put in the list.
Will Eisner, Alex Raymond, Alex Toth, Milton Caniff, Jack Kirby, Steve Ditko, their all give a lot to comics, so did Lucho Olivera, Ernesto Garcia Seijas, Horacio Altuna, Horacio Lalia, Enrrique Alcatena, Arturo del Castillo, José Luís Salinas, Hugo Pratt, In Europe, Enki Bilal, Milo Manara, Moebius, Sergio Toppi, Mordillo, just to mention some. Japan is full too. Masamune Shirow, Katsushiro Otomo,Shintaro Kago (with those horrible stories but a grafic narrative that just can't be compare with anything) and a long so on.
Is not a fair question.
