The Aztecs by ShawnVanBriesen The Aztecs by ShawnVanBriesen
This is a strip originally made for a DW website many months ago, penciled and inked by me. Written/ colored/ lettered by my talented pal :iconpaulhanley:.

Sadly, it only lasted two installments due to a variety of factors. This is the second installment.

In this one we continue the running joke that the one off companions will be unceremoniously done away with. Goodbye Sabetha and Altos; we hardly knew ye. *sniffle*

We continuously make fun of how ultimately cheap the sets were.

I love that Bill Hartnell always, always, gets Ian's last name wrong.

We had fun with crossing the Doctor's own timeline (very forbidden) and yet there are 11 and 4 doing exactly that with disastrous results.

My big regret is that we didn't get to do Paul's brilliant Sensorites strip given where we left this one.

Maybe someday we'll finish up our ideas in another venue...

This is mad funny! And you do manage to capture Hartnell's mannerism's/style of speech perfectly, even if it's a parody.

Ahaha, this is wonderful! It's too bad the comic didn't last longer, I would have followed it.

Oh, we've been asked several times to continue it. It's just a time factor thing for Paul and I.

Yeah I can understand. I tried doing a comic once and it was super time consuming. Still... yours would have been worth it! :P

Well, Paul and I both do comics professionally and have done for years. Comic Shots was more of a "passion project" for us. So maybe some day we'll do more.

This was a thing Paul and I were doing for a DW web site. Kind of a MAD magazine take on early episodes.

Brilliant just brilliant.

Oh, and 11, you only got away with the time paradox because there was already something screwing with the timeline.

Brilliant work. I kept eagerly checking back to DW online, hoping for another one.

I especially like the appearance of the Fourth and Eleventh Doctors.

"I'm talking to the camera again, aren't I?" THAT has always been one of my favourite things to tease about the early days.
