"This is a scene I originally planned for our 11th Doctor & Brigadier story "Fade Away", which would've gone between what ended up becoming Pages 2 and 3.  It just got too long and involved compared to the other flashbacks though, and would've thrown our little 9 page story off balance.  Still... I liked the idea of it, and it seemed wrong to do a story summing up the Brigadier's & Doctor's relationship with no significant appearance from the 3rd Doctor, Jo, Yates, Benton etc- so as Slade once sang... here it is- Merry Christmas. "
